Finding a new analog alarm clock

Would you gentleman mind helping with my search for a new alarm clock? My 30+ year old clock radio has passed on. I'm looking for a battery or plug in analog alarm clock of good quality. The preferred features would be quiet, non ticking, non-lighted dial, ascending or quiet alarm (I don't need sonic sounds to wake). A good quality, dependable clock, so what would you recommend?

Just wondering, but why not digital? I spent $10 on a Sony an it is reliable as can be.....no problems.

Does an analog one have to be new? I don't even know if they make them new anymore. I am sure you could find a second hand one at a thrift store, flea market, or even ebay. I bet ebay would be your best bet. Just make sure the seller accepts returns. Despite all the hate ebay gets around here, I have gotten good stuff before.

Ebay

As many products have become cheaper (meaning lesser quality as opposed to less costly), buying older products that are in good condition is the way to go.

Try finding a light cotton "Barracuda" style jacket anywhere in stores today? All I find our thin "micro-fiber" jackets that look both unbreathable and like they'll wear out quickly. Instead I find a lovely jacket on the bay for $30, I've used it for 3 years and it has many years left in it.

If your looking for an old school alarm clock/radio I would check out your nearest Salvation Army/Goodwill store. Was in one a couple months ago and there were a lot of old school type alarm clock/radio like you were describing for just a couple of dollars.

How about a Braun?

It's a classic design.

There are a few other models here.

+2 on the Seiko Clocks.
I have a Seiko Clock that I acquired from my parent's house when I moved out.
I don't know how old it is, but it's a solid clock that has been around for 30 years I betcha.

I'm just a traditionalist, always have been. I DE shave, go figure, lol.

I knew about Seiko, and have been looking at those. How about the Braun ones, are they quiet?
