What's new

Finally used CADE Shave Soap and...

I have to say that it lives up to all of the hype and love it get's...I was always skeptical about this product but after pondering for what seemed for forever, I finally broke down and bought a puck while walking around the mall.

I used it for the first time this morning with my Simpson Classic 1 Best and OMG it produced a thick, rich, slick lather in absolutely no time (loaded the brush for about 45-60 seconds)...The cushion and glide that this soap produces is absolutely amazing. The scent is quite nice but IMO very mild, wish it was a bit more pronounced...I'm a huge fan of P160 (my fave), Cella, D.R. Harris, MWF, Mike's, La Toja Manantiales soaps because of the ease of lathering, cushion and incredible glide that each of these provide...I must say that CADE is now part of that group...I was pleasantly surprised of what a wonderful and comfortable shave I had this morning....it was one of those shaves where everything was absolutely perfect!

I'm now a CADE believer and thank you all for your previous posts and threads about this great soap. :biggrin1:

I had finished my puck of Cade a few months ago and never bothered to refill because I have too many soaps and creams lying around. I had been thinking of getting back to the spare puck of Cade I've had sitting around for over a year, and last week finally got around to pulling it out and use it for a shave. I got beautifully thick, creamy lather with amazing slickness, and that juniper scent that I've always liked - reminded me again of everything I used to like about Cade. And I agree with OP, the scent could be more pronounced, but it is oh so nice.

L'Occitane used to carry a cade shaving soap, but, if memory serves me correctly, they dropped it. Then, a month or more ago a member here initiated a petition to get it going again. Haven't heard what happened.

L'Occitane has never stopped carrying the soap. Occasionally someone finds a store thats run out, and discontinuation rumors run rampant. My local store supposedly sells tons of the stuff.

I just checked their website and they do indeed seem to still carry it.

My Cade story is simple. I smelled the soap and immediately had to break fromt he 2012 SPP Sabbatical. By the time I got to the car I realized what I had done and went back to the store for the rest of their shaving products. Then I realized my nephew needed a college graduation present. So he lucked out and I'm still in the sabbatical.

I was in the same boat as Greg the OP. I read all the glowing reports and thought that it was just one more nice soap that I will pick up someday...or not! Then I decided to purchase it one day and am very glad that I did. I find it to be a very reliable performer and get wonderful shaves every time I use it. The scent is very pleasant and enjoyable.

Regards,

Doug

Glad to hear you discovered Cade. I can't live without this soap, it's amazing in every way imaginable. Performance, latherability and scent are just top notch.
