congrats! always fun to get new gear. I hear that razor is very nice. 
Welcome to B&B! That's a great razor, but keep in mind people say it's very mild--probably a good thing for a beginner, but something to bear in mind if you find you're not getting close enough shaves...there are many more aggressive razors out there if that's the case.
Great choice. I just received mine on Saturday (I have been using a Merkur 23c) and it is wonderful. I haven't had a nick or even a weeper with it yet, and get DFS after 2 passes, WTG and XTG.

Great choice to start off the journey!
No nicks or cuts with mine---made very well---but my daily shaves have been so-so. If I don't get BBS--I'm annoyed all day when I touch my face.
Ordered a Merkur 38 to see if it is aggressive enough---otherwise I'll be moving to a slant or adjustable.
