So for the last few months I've dipped into soaps after only using Prorasso cream. It's been a frustrating journey of trying to figure out how to best lather what I have. But today I finally got it right. The culprits so far have been Mama Bears Lime Ice and Good Morning Honey as well as Ogallala Bay Rum. With all three I've had trouble getting good stable consistent lather. Would usually be good for the first pass but would quickly deteriorate after that which would usually lead me to be constantly re-lathering during passes or dropping some Prorasso in to create the stability I was looking for. I've read and re-read the tutorials. I've searched high and low and for some reason could never get it right.
This morning that changed. The winner was Mama Bear's Lime Ice. Oh what a feeling it was. Had great lather for all three passes. Stable and slick. On top of that, I don't know if this was a by product of actually getting a great lather, but for the first time I was really able to feel the cooling factor of the Lime Ice. Was a great way to start my day at 5:30 this morning. I'm hoping to keep this going. Today I did my usual brush soak and put some water on the soap as well. The big difference I think was leaving my brush a little wetter then usual and really making sure to load the brush well. In the end it all come together beautifully. I was starting to think I was going to be strictly a cream man but feel like I've cracked the soap code that's been elluding me the last few months. It's a great feeling.
