What's new

Finally complete

So I finally found a home for a seriously oversized Ace knot. I originally bought it last year to put into a mohawk that I was restoring, but the knot had glue that set the flair so that it couldn't go into the 1" hole in my handle. I ended up keeping it anyway, and had my dad turn a few walnut handles while he was playing around with a lathe. One of them was drilled with a 1 1/8" hole, and the knot barely fits into it, but it does fit. Today I finally got the epoxy mixed and set the knot. I've been working the last couple of weeks getting the handle finished, and getting depth for the knot determined using 4 pennies. I'll finally get to check out how the ace knots perform. Anyway, on with the final product:

I love the pint glass shape! It reminds me of a glass of Guinness! I miss Ireland- spent 10 days there last month. I think I'll have to speak to my local brush maker, and see if he can put together a dark wood handle with a light colored upper portion to look like a glass of Guinness. Thanks for sharing, and for the inspiration!
