Figured out what ARKO smells like. Really!

Ok, i'm not a fan of the soap, but in all seriousness I figured out what it smells like.... Saddle soap! I picked up a can for my leather boots the other day, and when I popped it open, I immediately thought of Arko. Smells spot-on to my nose, but i find Arko to be about 2.5 times stronger. Anyone else think this to be true?


On a separate note i love using the saddle soap! It works so much better than the oil i have been putting on my leather products, or silicone to waterproof them. This makes the leather feel soft, and supple without being oily, and works to waterproof and clean them as well. I find it makes the leather feel more expensive too, if that makes sense. Give saddle soap a try, i highly recommend it.

Nope, urinal cake is the smell I get from it.

I've had mine awhile so the scent has turn into smelling like ivory soap.

Arko is fresher than the basic citronella smell of saddle soap. It's similar to Ivory. It doesn't resemble a urinal cake at all.

I don't know how saddle soap smells. But Arko doesn't smell like an urinal cake. At least no urinal I´ve ever used smelled like this. My grandmother had still a real laundry room, like in ancient times and Arko always reminds me of that.

Hmm, I can see that. I've always thought it smelled like Ivory soap.

Interesting. I think the urnal cake idea is more of a joke, and found the saddle soap spot-on as far as a reference if people have not used it before. Ivory? Well, i did not keep mine long enough to fade that much, but i did have it for 4 months or so without it fading to that scent. YMMV
