What's new

Fifty years old!

My Slim is 50 years old this quarter (H3). It is interesting how beautifully it has retained its youthful looks. Oh sure, it has a few dings and the paint is gone from the numbers, but it still shines and shaves so nice. I may shave with it exclusively for the entire quarter. I'll use Williams for the first shave of the quarter.

I'm sad to admit that during 1962, as best I can recall, I was once again trying to get a decent shave from a Schick electric of some kind, had put aside my Schick Injector, and would not be buying my own first Slim Adjustable for another 3-4 years. I may have still had some sort of late 40s, early 50s Super Speed, which amounted to being a backup to an SE at first, and later a Backup to the Schick I-model Injector.

(I've just shaved with a Black Tip, and it worked quite well, at 60 to 62 years old or so.)

Errr, the 3rd quarter doesn't start until July. :wink2:

DOH! I hate it when that happens. I guess I was just anticipating the anniversary so much that I jumped the gun.

I did enjoy my shave this morning, however. Now I am faced with the question of whether to continue or not.

Decision - I'm going to press on anyway. I do use the Slim about 25% of the time. I got awesome lather from the Williams soap (as I usually do). So, what's not to like?

You could just buy an H-2 so this month would be "legit." :001_smile
