What's new

Fess Up.

Who has been pressed for time like I was this morning, and just completed a single pass? You know what this shave is on par with my old M3/Barbasol setup.

I usually just don't shave if I'm that pressed for time. It's not enjoyable and I feel like I've given up haha.

Honestly? I can't say that I have. I have done just a two pass, but never just a one. And I must say, I felt like I needed to finish the job the rest of the day.

I do a one-pass shave every morning, with a caveat. I use a Feather Artist Club. It gets me a DFS and fairly quickly and the shave "lasts" pretty well throughout the day. Couldn't do the same thing with a DE.

I will do a "quickie" one pass shave on a Saturday morning if I know I will be showering and shaving in the afternoon. I suppose I am old school but I have this thing about not leaving the house without shaving and brushing my teeth even if I don't shower. So if I have errands to run or whatever I do a one pass shave, brush my teeth and am good to go until later in the day when I clean up. A gentleman is always "cleaned up" for Saturday evening...:001_smile

I usually try and allow enough time for a really decent shave. If I think I might be pressed time wise, I'll shave the night before.

I've been known to do the occasional single pass when using a multi-blade cartridge, but never with a DE. My first pass with a DE leaves an unacceptable amount of stubble.

The least I've ever done is two pass and that's only with my straight. Tried to do a 1 pass once with my DE...started squeezing the brush out and did two more passes cause it just felt wrong.

Cheers,

M.

I sometimes go into the shower thinking I will only do one pass--but so far that hasn't happened. I do at least two, plus touch up.

I would sometimes only do one with the Fusion.

I feel like most of the time spent is building lather and cleaning up. In my experience, an extra pass or two wouldn't even add that much time; if I was that pressed for time, I would probably just wait til the next day.

I know one pass would be good enough in terms of how it looks to other people but I have never actually just done one pass. I don't shave unless I have time.

Can't say that I have, but I also call into question how much time spent per pass; aren't we talking about a matter of three or four minutes? Who is that strapped for time?

If I ever plan on a one or two pass shave I usually forget to stop. The three passes are just automatic for me. Having been at this for a few years I don't need that long on each pass anyway.

Last night I was really tired so I only did a 2 pass shave, and it has been bothering me all day. It was fine enough for work, but every time my hand brushed my cheek it was like sandpaper. So I can't see myself ever doing a single pass shave if I can help it.
