Feather RG SS DX Comparisons

In a lot of places I've read that people believe the shave of the SS is more forgiving and comfortable, but still prefer the RG and DX over the SS. I'm just curious as to what virtue the RG and DX have that outweigh the comfort of the SS.

You need to try both to have a preference. Otherwise any of them will give you a close comfortable shave. Kinda like Coke and Pepsi.

I've tried the SS and DX. I use the SS everyday and prefer it over the DX. This is my first experience in the world of straights so I'm just a little confused as to why someone would prefer a "less forgiving" razor. Just wondering if others find the shave easier or get a closer shave. I feel like maybe I'm missing something or my technique is off since I've seen a lot of people say that they prefer the DX and RG heads.

I would admit that the DX feels much sturdier in my hand and looks and feels more like a "real straight."

I prefer the DX head because the angles used more closely resemble the angles I use with regular straights. A quick reorientation with the SS and I am off to the races.

I like them both, it would have to lean towards the DX. I would likely trade my SS Japanese for a DX Japanese one day.

I was just watching a geofatboy video using the Feather SS and it looks sweet.

I'm still working on my DE technique yet seriously thinking of trying this out :D

(WCS shows the RG as being discontinued and the DX more than twice the price)

As someone who uses japanese straights, I would second the RG over the SS. Here's the difference
