Favorite DE Razor - Do You Have One?

I have four DE razors, but one rises to the top as my favorite. I have:
- Merkur 38HD C
- Merkur 46C
- 1940 style SS
- 1957 SS Flair Tip

The 38HD C is my fab and the 46C my least fav to the point I am thinking of selling it. The weight of the 38 makes getting a great shave a breeze. The 46C is lighter as it is set up for travel. I just find it harder to get a close nick free shave with this razor.

i know others would have the exact opposite take on these razors. I also that there is no one "best razor" that al will agree on. I am just curious - what is your favorite DE razor?

I would have to say it is a toss up between my 1946/47 Gillette Aristocrat, and my 1934 open comb Gillette Aristocrat. Both give a great shave, and have oodles of class.

I only have vintage Gillettes, but my favourite right now is definitely my Gillette Slim adjustable. It's such a great razor, it's not the prettiest of my razors, but it's a very solid performer. I can stick any blade into it and adjust the gap to match the blade. It's incredibly versatile and it wasn't very expensive.

My latest favorite is my silver New Improved. Beautiful and great shaves, too.

My favorite is my Gillette New (short comb). Gives me close, comfortable shaves every time.

I love all my razors, but right now all I use is my Merkur 37C.

My favourite is my Edwin Jagger lined chrome Chatsworth. My only other razor is a Merkur 38C which is an excellent razor too. Yes, 2 razors! I do have ADs in several other areas of shaving, however

I suppose if a gun were held to my head and I had to point to just one DE it would have to be the Merkur Vision. I try not to use it too much because every time I do, I want to get rid of all of my other razors. Not too many other razors make me feel this way.

Hey wait!?!?!?!?! I used it today. Hot dang Merkur Mondays anyway....

Maybe that's why I feel this way again

I have a little of everything, from a Hoffritz slant, R41, Aristrocats, 40's SS, Diplomat, Fat Boys, Slims, News, Sheraton, Flare Tips, Tradere OC (first generation) and the one I gravitate to the most is my single ring. Gillette got it right from the start as far as I am concerned. Give me that old Single Ring with a Super Iridium in it and I am a happy camper.

iKon OSS
iKon open comb
iKon standard
Merkur 39C
EJ39 barley

I have used a pre 2011 and post 2011 R41 (the extremes of "aggression").

Tied for top spot for shave comfort are the iKon OSS and EJ89.

For craftsmanship and appearance the iKons beat them all.

1953 Y2 Gillette President. My mother's birthyear/quarter.... and quite a pretty one at that. The rhodium plating is nearly perfect.... I really lucked out when I found it.
