FatBoy Feeding Frenzy

Man whats up tonight one Fatboy sells for $345 and the others are running out of sight on bay.

Anybody seeing this or am I dreaming?

If you look at the bidding you'll find that this particular seller draws noobies like flies. There were 12 bidders and 55 bids. Most of the bids were by noobies with less then 10 feedbacks and 38 bids were by two guys with 1 and zero feedbacks who know nothing about bidding and probably less about razors.

This happens all the time with this seller.

Yeah, I saw the same auction tonight. I was thinking, "Who in their right mind?" Then I saw a lone Fatboy, that wasn't labeled as such. It was at $9.99 w/ 4min left. I snatched it up for $22.50. :w00t: Total impulse buy!

Considering the fact that you can purchase a #16 for around $200, I'd say someone got taken--by their own lack of common sense. No Fatboy is worth that, when there are better razors to be had for less.

I might have to bookmark this page in case I ever have to justify some of my costlier purchases! I can't imagine what it would've gone for had it been a red dot.

Most seem to be going at usual prices, but there are those few(n-u-bees),that pay WAY to much and bid WAY to often,...Not to hi jack this thread, but what is up with the 1958 red dot prototype?? is it really that rare???

Yes, it is pretty rare. That is a Fatboy that should sell for $300 in the right condition. This one that just ended has to be a combination of ignorance and alcohol fueled bidding.

I don't think its super rare, but definitely not something you'll see too often.

WOW Oldguy I didn't know this that guy has got their number and making a boat load of money off these guys. I've dropped 55 at most on a BigBoy but it's just my limit but this is ridiculous.

Man, I thought I lucked out when one of mine went for $200.

I swear though, I can't bring myself to write that gushy, comic book, poet wannabe hyped up nonsense that they always write into their listings.

I actually tried once. It's not hard, but it was making me physically sick and I was embarrassed at myself just reading that pap.

So I scratched it and started over as if I was addressing an adult with a normal I.Q.

My mistake, I suppose. Maybe it cost me $100 but at least I can sleep at night.

Wow is right. I was watching that auction hoping to pick up a replated fatbay at a reasonable price. Certainly wasn't gonna pay more than $60. This is ridiculous to say the least.

It's called shilling .. the seller has associates throw the bids in until some sucker gets hooked. The sucker here seems to be, well, decorum prevents me, but, really challenged in the razor sense ..

I don't know. They'd need an army of shills. They always get absurd prices for any razor they put up there, regardless of the condition. They called this one "pristine". It's nothing of the sort. But they use a Bible verse on the bottom of their listing, so I must be wrong. Surely, they wouldn't misrepresent the condition of their razors. :001_rolle

I've gotten some ridiculous prices myself, so it's not unimaginable they'd get that kind of money. Shills don't engage in bidding wars one increment at a time. If you look at the bid history, you'll see two or three noobs kept manually placing bids. That looks like a bidding war between idiots, or drunks, to me.

I'd be interested to know if the buyer wakes up and takes advantage of their "100% satisfaction guarantee" when he realizes what he did, and when he notices that big ole' scratch on top of the head.
