Fatboy Difference

Can someone tell me, was there a difference in production on the 1960 Fatboys? The razor on the left is an F 2 and the one on the right is an F 4. Notice the 2 notches on the end of the handle for the TTO on the one on the left. Does anyone no why there is a difference? Thanks.

I think you've pinpointed the time change in manufacturing of Fat Boy TTO knob gaskets. From this point in 1961 on the Fat Boys had the no notch end gasket as did the Slim adjustables. Of note, the notched gaskets made it a bit easier to unscrew and dismantle a Fat Boy. The later type of gasket had to be uncrimped, which I've never done, but there are directions for how to dismantle in a thread somewhere on these boards.

I believe the Fat Boys ended production in 1961, but someone here can be more exact on this point, I am sure.

+1. The earlier Fat Boy TTO knob retainers could be unscrewed, while the later ones were crimped on. Gillette ceased production of the Fat Boy during 1961 (I have a G2) and began making the Slim Adjustable that same year.
