Fat handle tech, are they common?

Been looking for a fat handle tech for a while and all i can get is pre 1950s slim handles.

are the fat ones rare?

Been looking for one, since, I like the tech, but I'm not a big fan of the handle.

PS: unless someone want to loose weight and trade a fat for a skinny :p

They seem very common to me. I would guess that if you post a WTB ad, then you will probably have a couple offers by the end of the day.

thanks guys.
I found my 2 techs on antique shops, but haven't tried ebay.
I've followed a few on ebay, but I found on ebay razors go for much more than at antique shops or BST here.:confused1

do you think someone might be interested in a trade of the handle?
are they interchangeable?

Been looking for a Silver Fat Handle Tech for over a year now.

Only seem to find Gold ones.

My Slim Handle Tech shaves great.

That's why I want another Tech.

One word of caution. While the fat handle looks heavier, it is hollow and is noticeably lighter in weight. It's nicely textured and looks nice, but you'll have to fill it with bird shot to get its weight up.

Wow, didn't know that.

Thanks for the insight.

I was just looking at my silver handled fat techs. I have four types, some are Made in US and others are PAT Canada. The rectangular slot type and the triangular slot type. Weights from 44 to 49 grams. Part of the difference in weight is the handle, but the top bit can vary in weight a few grams as well. Gold fat handle techs also vary in weight and slot type, and the ones I have range from both heavier and lighter than the silver ones. Skinny ball end techs weigh in from the 40s to 60 grams. My current fav, a NEW Improved is 77 grams
