Fanboys share your collections

When I find a good thing, I tend to stick with it. Shaving has been no different and I’ve found myself gravitating towards a few of my favourite product lines. I’d be interested to see what products the other fans boys have gotten behind. Share your collections and your thoughts on what makes it so good.

Two that I am currently besotted with, coincedentally both Spanish:
  • Eufros soaps: Manuel makes a fanstastic base, and his scents are both original and delightful
  • Myrsol: I've tried lots of aftershaves, and I keep coming back to these: nothing beats them for face feel
Oh, and Japanese steel, especially Yasuki: ridiculously easy to hone, holds an edge, and just feels luxurious on your face.

I don't consider myself a fanboy of anything, but on the soap side I've basically settled on having more than one scent from a handful of artisans: Ethos, Declaration Grooming, B&M, Grooming Dept. I have several A&E soaps too but haven't picked any up in quite a while and they're not really on my list of looking to add to. And then I have 1 or 2 scents from several other great artisans like Wholly Kaw, Mammoth, Talbott (RIP), along with a bunch of one-offs that I'm veeeery slowly working through.

It's still way too much... but I'm making myself not pick up any other "random" soaps even if they're a good deal.

Simpson makes up the bulk of my brush collection. They are such a classic design. The ivory handles will never go out of style. When I close my eyes and imagine what a shaving brush should be, it’s a Simpson. Quality and customer service from @A.E. Simpson 1919 has always been on point. I’m always glad when another little red box arrives.

I'm a fan of Yates razors. This started when I got the first Winning razor from the Wet Shaving Club. Yates made the Wet Shaving Club razors (Winning and Merica) and then later bought WSC. Later I got the Merica, and finally their premium 921 with the H plate.

Backland Razors is another company that a I’ve been impressed with lately. The designs are well thought out and executed. I like that @Blackland Razors puts the work in upfront to develop the best configuration and don’t offer too many choices in terms of blades gaps etc. That makes it easy for the customer to select the right razor. The designs are interesting and innovative. Modern classics.

I still can’t decide if I like the Blackbird or the Vector better. Both are excellent while offering a slightly different shaving experience. The philosophy of comfort through efficiency really works with these. The machined stainless finish is really cool. The razors have an industrial elegance and wear their CNC machining marks with pride. The weight feels nice in the hand and while I’m totally happy with these I do admit to being Ti curious.
