What's new

Falls almost here!

Summers already over :( mornings and nights are cooler (thats not too bad waking up with SWMBO wrapped are me).

I was wondering do you guys uses different soaps/creams depending on the seasons ?
Some that you avoid on hot humid and hot summer day and others that you prefer in winters ?

Wich one do you prefer during falls and winters ?

I switch to woodsy/pine/tobacco/heavier scents when it gets cooler. Tabac, Marlborough, Mike's pine and cedar wood, I coloniali, Castle Forbes, and Mama Bears Masonic Lodge are a few I have lined up.

I do, but I'm afraid I will be limited to Tabac until the New Year (sabbatical). :(

In the summer I use more Proraso, Cella, TOBS Rose cream.

In the fall/winter, I tend toward Tabac and Queen Charlotte Green Irish Tweed.

Tabac, but it'll have to wait for a puck of Arlington to bite the dust! Might be late December, early January before I finish Arlington. I also want to get rid of some Classic Shaving Candy Cane and Lightfoot's Pure Pine (with AOS Unscented cream because the stuff is abysmal on its own!) during the winter months, but the partial puck of Tabac will easily get me to spring!

I used to wonder this same thing, but it seems like after a hot shower it's usually steamy like the Amazon in July in my bathroom no matter what time of year it is. I rotate based on what flavor I am in the mood for... I usually crave something for a few days then move on to another one. Though some mornings I need that cooling power of a Proraso to get me through the haze.

In the past I haven't changed based on seasons in the past, but am looking at starting to do so this year. I may not have a great selection of soaps on hand to do that with right now, my possible options being Parker sandalwood, Col. Conk bay rum, and Mama Bear Brute. I'm told the sandalwood is a good cold weather scent and suspect the bay rum may be as well. Not so sure that the the MB Brute (Brut type) isn't better for spring and summer.

I go heavy on Menthol during the summer, but lean towards Arlington and Tabac during the cooler months. Some morning I still need that kick of menthol to get me going no matter what the temp is outside.

I prefer Woody software in cool/cold weather and citrus and lighter scents for warm/hot weather. There are some that get used year round like CF lavender, any rose product, Violet, MWF, Tabac, Safari, Old Spice and other fine vintage soaps. There are others but that is what comes to mind.

Doug

Mystic Water coconut lime verbina all summer.
Giving the Mystic Adirondack Jack a try this fall, the puck is still in the wrap sitting in the den...
But I did just try some Mama Bear unscented and I might need to make a purchase of something scented for the season...

I have only been doing this since this summer, but I have lined up: LOccitane Cade - Fitjar Vildwhing - Fithjar Telemark - Portland General Store Whiskey.

Bring it on!

Towards the later half of summer when things started to really heat up I broke out my QED Peppermint, probably the coldest thing one can put on there face. Fall line-up: Cyril R. Salter Shaving Cream - Almond, Cella, Kell's Original Hemp Blend - Juniper Sage.

Opposite down here - warmer weather means the 'Raso Green gets more of a run... Ozzie summers = mentholy goodness!

Weather finally broke here in NYC (after weeks of tropical humidity, and tornadoes over the weekend!). Yesterday I used Tabac soap for the first time in months. Didn't consciously make the connection, but who knows? I do tend to think of Tabac as a cool-weather product.

Haven't touched my Tabac, MWF or Speick since it was cold out. Might have something to do with me finding Mikes Natural and Mystic Water soaps too. But I keep telling myself the ones I listed are more cold weather soaps and I will use the when it gets cold again.
