Faces Quiz #3 - Current Sports Stars

Here it is boys and girls, the next installment in this scintillating series of mental calisthenics. This time we're looking at a random selection of current sports millionaires...uh, I mean 'athletes'. Rules the same as always: PM your guesses on who these folks are and then post below that you have done so. The past two quizzes have been geared toward the older folks on the board but I expect to draw out some of the younger crowd with this one (mature audiences of course still encouraged to apply!). I've purposely chosen a pretty wide variety of sports so the chance of any one of you being a fan of all of them are pretty slim.

To make things a bit more fun and challenging this time, try and see how many you can do without having to search everyone up on the internet. Honour system in effect. Good luck all you sports watching types - this is your chance to shine! :thumbup1:

No fair- half of those aren't even sports. :001_tongu

(in best John Cleese voice)

If you, sir, are referring to golf and football then I must wholeheartedly agree. If however you are referring to the sport of sports, gymnastics, then I will have to ask you to step outside!

MMA, Strong Man, American Football those are all too easy. But some of those other silly things...

...yeah I don't have a clue.

Answer sent. I'm pretty confident I got all Twenty.

And for the really sneaky minded out there, there IS still one little internet "cheat" available. It won't necessarily tell you the answer. But, in combination with a little detective work, knowledge of digital imaging, and some shrewd guesswork - it will at least confirm you've got the right answer.

I have to say that one of the names is Magnus something...and im going with the Strong man name :p

Aw shucks, that's easy:

1. Takeru Kobayashi
2. Joey Chestnut

Ahahaha, Ouch and Thunderball are cracking me up. And the best part is I immediately recognized those two. But all the ones in the OP's post I have never seen before in my life.

Look very closely at the pictures. Most (but not all) of the pictures contain significant clues.

If you can figure out A) the sport the athlete competes in; B) the team they play for (if they are a team athlete; and C) what were the circumstances of the picture - you are more than halfway there. Any words in the picture will be very helpful.

Every one of the athletes shown is very well known in their field. (Not like the Canadian general in the last quiz, grumble, grumble...)

Last clue: Google image search is extremely powerful. More powerful than most people really understand.

Edit: I've just re-read the OP, and realized I'm not supposed to use the Internet at all. Ooops.

I submitted my choices; I knew about 15 of them, and there are a couple more that I guessed at - I had absolutely no idea who either of the rugby players were.

EDIT: Also, on two of them I only knew one name (the last name of the swimmer, and the first name of one of the MMA guys). Not sure if getting half the name counts for anything... :)

I was talking about the girls standing behind them.

Ah well that's altogether a tougher question. The only girl I recognize immediately is the one in the white hat. That's Prudence B. Postlethwaite of Reading, Pennsylvania. The blondie beside him is probably Elle McPherson but I haven't seen her in a while so I'm not 100% sure.

I sorta agree, but was figuring that if he went all international he could have at least included some cyclists! After all, the Vuelta a Espana is happening right now. Maybe we need a

or a

or maybe an American, but not the easiest who would be

so I'd say try this one
