Face too shiny after aftershave splash

After I use the dollar store old spice after shave, my face seems really shiny. Is that the propyl glycol in it? Am I using too much? Or is it just the effect of an alcohol splash?

I think that a shiny face it more likely due to a closer shave than anything else. If you're putting enough aftershave on for your face to be shiny, it would probably be noticeably sticky too. You can try reducing the amount of AS you're using, or you could try a light dusting of powder (Clubman Talc, for example). Personally, I notice it when I've finished shaving, chalk it up to another close shave, and then forget about it.

That's what they make Talc for. Sprinkle talc on dry washcloth, pat on shiney face, leaving a slight dusting of the good stuff. Cheap. Matt finish. Soft and smooth...
