I normally shave in the shower and lather on my face. My wife brought home some shave soap for me to try since I've been talking about it. Should I have much trouble face lathering or are there any tricks for success for face lathering.
I find face lathering easier and better for my skin, shaves after face lathering feel closer and smoother compared to bowl lathering. The only difference I found was that I didn't have all the excess lather, rather it was just in my brush and I could easily get 3-4 pass shaves out of my brush.
You didn't say what type of container for your soap. If you just have the puck, you can rub directly on your face or you can do as I do, and keep your pucks in a separate container. I use aluminum tins and grate around the edges for a fit. Having said that, I almost always face lather with shave sticks. I can't remember the last time I bowl lathered.
I always face lather. I think the swirling on the face might "stand up" the hairs a little more to make them easier to shave, but that is conjecture. Most people load up a wrung out brush and apply a coating of soap, then wet the brush more to work up a lather. There are several good videos on youtube about this. Give it a shot and see where it goes. It gets better with practice.
sorry guys i'm to new to know all my terms correctly what I was asking is that I usually wet my brush in the shower and pick up some cream and build that to a lather on my face while showering. I answered my own question a few minutes ago . I took my brush wetted it and swirled it on top of the puck for a few seconds and away I went. Not as thick a lather as my cream but just as comfortable for shaving. Might have found a new way for me .
switching???I might definitely more economical . I do believe your right about loading the brush up more though. Who would have thought I would have been building this fascination with lathering
