Eversharp Blade - 1965

I bought a couple NOS packs on a while back. I just couldn't resist the nice packaging.

Here they are pictured with an Eversharp Krona.

The also made injector blades. Here are a couple of photos of the ones I have.

Are the edges truly convex ground? That must have been expensive to do, if so. Perhaps explains the high price.

If I am not mistaken, these might look a lot like the Gillette Aristocrat blade that came out in 1967. Those are some of the rarest ss blades that Gillette ever made, officially.

Do you mean these?

I've had them for a while. They are still in the plastic shrink wrap but it's a bit dusty underneath.
I just don't have the heart to open them. But here is what the dispenser looks like.

Yes, the reason being, I have seen a picture of one of these blade dispensers (on WorthPoint) with what appear to be chrome plated blades inside--like the ones in the advertisement of the Eversharp Chrome blades shown by the OP. They were made especially for the Aristocrat line, and they first came out in 1967. I am not sure, but possibly for just that year alone.

There was an old ad for these Aristocrat blades selling on eBay, probably eBay.fr or eBay.it that reads:

Aristocrat Razor Blade Ad:

Tia3 Pubblicità Advertising Werbung 1967 lama rara Aristocrat lametta Gillette

“Questa è la lama rara:
così preziosa che nemmeno Gillette può produrla su grande scala

Aristocrat

La Lama rara della Gillette”

“This is the rare blade: so precious that even Gillette cannot produce it on a large scale”

Anyway, first time I have seen these Eversharp blades.

Here is a tidit of info on the Aristocrat blades from a couple years back.

Google Books does it again. Unfortunately, the two references to them are in snippet mode only.

In the British magazine the Spectator, there is a 1966 article detailing the stainless blade wars and Gillette's introduction of the Aristocrat blades. :001_tongu

Then, in this book about the British playwright Noel Coward is this tempting snippet...

My Life with Noel Coward - Page 273
Graham Payn, Barry Day - 1996 - 416 pages - Preview
... ield has a tiny bit The Aristocrat is made by Gillette from ultrafine stainless steel, burnished to brilliance. Incidentally, it just so happens that the Aristocrat gives a far finer shave than any other blade. ...

Search I used:

Here are some images of the actual blades from Mr. Razors site.

Grrr, off by a year, memory is failing. Those are awesome looking Aristocrat blades. They sort of look chrome plated to me, but I don't know. I'd never shave with them if I had a box or two laying around either. Great display item though.
