What's new

Ever have one of those shaves..

Ever have one of those shaves that was going so well then, in the blink of an eye, turns into a massacre? Was shaving tonight and trying out the Simpsons shave cream I received when I said to myself, this stuff is great! What a great shave I am having. It was just then that I blinked and there was a thick stream of blood running down my face next to my lip...it did not get better after that...oh well, just wanted to vent on that one. First cuts and nicks in a long long time. Time to go wash off this after have soothing mask and start the pain of some aftershave...

Yea, had a few of those. Still got the scar from the worst one. I had twitched or something as the razor touched my right side of my neck and got a nice blade sized cut.

Yep, still have a scar not far from my left eye! Didn't even notice I'd cut myself until the blood appeared, thick and red through the lather!

Just like when your having a bad hair day...but yours was a bad shave day

this is the worst feeling in the world. i get all pumped up to shave and its going well, and then... FFFFFUUUUUUUUUU&&&***! ive so been there.

I've sneezed while shaving (head) with a cart in the past....
it was one of those abrupt sneezes you don't feel coming until you've cleaned off a portion of eyebrow.

I just got a new Slant a couple of weeks ago. I've had a vintage one for a while, but it was a little beat up and I wanted a new one. I've used it everyday since I got it, and have gotten fabulous results. A couple of days ago, however, I guess I got a bit too comfortable with it while I was shaving in a hurry. Popping up under the lather on my second pass were three streams of red--I had cut myself pretty good, and in strange places...like right under the sideburn. Lesson learned--no need to rush, especially with a slant.

I got sloppy yesterday as I was finishing up my shave and got a nice gash under my lip. I've become accustomed to shaving without bloodshed, but this was a gusher. About 30 minutes later I finally got it to stop bleeding. Bad shave day indeed!

Yup. Whenever I overthink it and try to hard to attain that *perfect* BBS shave...It's always days before my face fully recovers and I think to myself, never again.

Don't demonstrate a Rolls Razor to your brother after six or seven beers. You will not like the results, your brother will laugh his *** off at your bleeding face and he won't be converted to traditional shaving by your "demonstration".:cursing:

Seriously, the worst cut I ever had was from a Mach 3. Doing a head shave, hit the top of my ear hard and it took at least 30 minutes to get the blood to stop pouring out.

I'm blaming Friday the 13th. My main problem area, a swirl on my lower neck, actually shaved without much trouble today. So in return, the gods saw fit for me to nick myself at the corner of my mouth. A bit of alum, though, and I was all set to go to work!

Hey! Me, too. Worst cut ever was an M3 bite on my ear. However, it was because it slipped just as I was crossing the top of my head and I slammed my hand against it to stop it from falling. I had to wear a head bandage to work that morning. I had a meeting with the boss and I thought he would cry he was laughing so hard.

I have had my fair share of cuts. One time my twist to open razor either was not fully tightened, or loosened up on me, while shaving the neck area. In 20/20 hindsight I could have been cut a lot worse though.

Weepers happen on occasion without thought or provocation. Real cuts, however, generally happen as a result of inattention or cockiness at how great your shaving abilities have become . . . I am less likely to cut myself when using a straight . . . the attention factor is much, much higher!

Only this week actually, despite over a year of DE shaving.

I'm breaking in a new Vie Long horsehair brush and it's currently a bit of a lather hog. It's also a bit floppy too so you have to paint the lather on.

Haven't quite got the hang of it so it looks like Sweeney Todd has been shaving me this week.

I had one just the other day, started off with Mystic Water Adirondack Jack and a Gem G-Bar. Before I knew it, I was bleeding in about 4 places. It doesn't happen often, but every once and a while, you just get one of those shaves.
