Eureka!

I tried straight razor shaving a few months ago with a shave-ready razor that I bought off the forums. I never really got good at it, cutting myself, not ever getting a smooth shave, and leaving my skin irritated. Then I grew a beard for the winter. I considered giving up, and switching back to DE in the spring when I went back to shaving.

Instead, I bought another shave-ready razor off the forums. Wow! The first time I shaved with it was almost perfect. I did two passes, and nicked myself twice, but the shave was pretty smooth and my skin was not irritated at all. The only parts I had problems with were the "soul patch" and the upper part of my mustache (which gives me problems with a DE too).

I guess one man's shave ready razor can be quite different from another man's!

Good for you. Definatly, I would say that when someone says a razor is shave ready, unless they have a reputation for it, you just never know.
