Erasmic shave stick

Does anyone find this soap inferior to ARKO and MWF?

My main problem is it isn`t very stable when lathered up (tried bowl as wll as face) + it lacks the cushioning from ARKO and doesn`t add up for this by being especially slick as MWF is.

I believe that the newer formulation of the Erasmic stick doesn't have tallow, therefore the inferior lather. I agree with you, the lather is garbage and my stick is basically shave chalk...not fun!

Mine actually has sodium tallowate in it but despite thath it is not a soap I enjoy.

It`s useable but that`s about it and you have to relather the neck by the time your done shaving the cheeks because the lather will have evaporated.

I couldn't lather that sucker either. Smells great though. Very old barber scent. I'm going to try the cream in the tube and there is a tub of soap now too I hear.

I recently bought a tallow stick, and while I like the smell a lot I can't get a good lather out of it. It evaporates quickly and is nowhere near as slick and dense as Palmolive, that's for sure. Shame, as it is quite cheap.

All the Erasmic sticks are tallowate now. They did have a brief foray into vegetable oil based in 2010 but reverted back to the original formula after complaints.

+1 that even the new version provides just a thin, unstable lather which lacks cushion--although, I find, it is quite slick, smells good, and leaves my face feeling good. For me, it doesn't come close to the performance of Arko or Wilkinson Sword; I haven't yet tried other budget sticks. I do really like Erasmic soap as a solid and enjoyable low-cost performer. I've read that the Erasmic cream is even better.

You are absolutely correct. However, their new tallow soap stick is still impossible to get even acceptable lather. :)
