Embracing some new (old man?) scents

Never heard of Bay Rum until recently and love the stuff. Bought some grocery store Old Spice last winter, and found that I like it as a wintertime scent. Got PIF'd some TOBS Sandlewood deodorant and like that stuff too! Thinking of smearing it on my face:biggrin1:!
I think I would have associated these scents with the older generations in the past, but I am just not into the "sport" scents any longer and I am pushing the ripe old age of 47...Really enjoying this thing of building a lather with soap and a brush, followed up with a good DE shave. Who knew?
What other scents/aftershaves might you folks recommend that is similar to these tastes?

First of let me say that before you try rubbing the deo on your face you might just want to buy some TOBS Sandalwood Shaving cream:001_tt2:.

As far as scents that smell "older" but I still enjoy-

Brut classic AS
Royall Vetiver (I think anything vetiver (that I have tried at least) smells somewhat old but in a GREAT way!)
Helan Vetiver and Rum
Proraso AS Splash
Speick anything
Palmolive Shave stick
TOBS Mr. Taylor Cream

That's about all I can think of right now but I am sure that, coming from a younger guy such as myself, some of my suggestions will offend the older more sensitive viewers here:lol: so I will throw in the obligatory IMHO, YMMV and all that jazz!

We are the same age and I am really into the vintage scents just as you are. If you like the grocery store Old Spice, you should try and find either the vintage Old spice made by Shulton, Or the Vi John 'Spice' sold at the dollar stores which I hear smells like a close copy of Shulton's. I wouldn't know, as I have a lifetime supply of vintage Shulton. Here is a list of classic Aftershaves you could easily obtain and enjoy.

Skin Bracer
Osage Rub
Classic Ice Blue Aqua Velva
Pinaud Clubman
Pinaud Special Reserve
Pinaud Citrus Musk
Pinaud Virgin Island Bay Rum (not really a Bay Rum though)
Masters Bay Rum
Captain's Choice Bay Rum (gotta try this myself. It is a premium Bay Rum made by one of our own members and extremely popular)
Superior 70 Bay Rum
Vintage Avon Aftershaves (found in antique, thrift stores, flea markets Ebay)
Brut
Stetson
Aspen
English Leather
Florida Water
