I have had my EJ89L for a few months now, and am still fond of the shave, but have noticed a little more "drag" as of late. Not blade drag, but drag from the caps contact with my face. I clean it, so it is not soap buildup. I was just curious if anyone else has noticed this, and if it may be from the "chrome blue" process they use as opposed to nickel. What are your experiences?

After about 6 months of use, I haven't noticed any drag. After it's clean and dry (and has no blade in it), does it still feel smooth if you run your finger along the top? Mine does. Maybe more cleaning on the guard?

It's definitely clean. It feels more like there is a difference between the plating of the EJ and say the nickel of a Gillette.
I hate to say this, but that is the patron saint of acquisition disorder telling you that it is time to buy another razor. Just so that you can compare it to your EJ and make certain, you know...
