Edwin Jagger Cream or Soap?

I found a few threads comparing EJ's scents, but none comparing their creams and soaps.

Does anybody have both the soap AND cream of any of EJ's three scents (aloe vera, sea buckthorn, or sandalwood)? Does one produce better results than the other?

Personally, I love the Aloe Vera scent of which I have a small shave cream sample. I just don't know whether to get the cream or soap!!

I've tried the Seabuckthorn in cream and soap and the Aloe Vera cream. All good products but the SBT soap is better than the cream and so I would assume the AV soap is better too. You can also find a EJ wooden bowl for the soap from the nice folks at Fendrihan.

I have both soap and cream in sandalwood. Both are fantastic. I like to use the soap when I can take my time. I use the cream when I travel and when I need a quick touch up. Both lather extremely well for me with my Kent bk4. The only difference in the two is that the scent of the cream lingers a bit longer than the soap post shave. I have also tried the Seabuckthorne cream and it is just as great as the Sandalwood. I ordered mine from The English Shaving Company when I bought my DE89L. The discount code for TESC can be found at the link below, they ship pretty fast to the US.

Not wanting to give an unecessary plug, but "the english shaving company" is nothing short of blinding! I ordered my EJ Chatsworth razor last week, and it arrived yesterday! Not bad bearing in mind it goes from Royal Mail through the forces mail out to Germany.

In addition they do tax free for those outside the UK. They also email back quickly if you have a query!

(No i am not an employee - I am just a chuffed customer!):thumbup:

Agreed. I ordered a shaving brush from them a while back and I remember shipping costs being low, but amazingly delivery was lightening fast. I will definitely order through them again.

I liked the cream a little better in that it seemed more lubricating. Can't beat any of the scents, and both soaps and creams are a deal.

EJ gear is also available at bestgroomingtools.com, based in New York. I have ordered from them, great customer service and fast shipping. I ordered the EJ black lather bowl and it arrived broken. I emailed them and they sent a replacement in the mail same day, no fuss no muss.

I haven't tried the soaps yet, but I've gone through some samples of the AV and SBT creams. Both perform very nicely and give an abundance of lather. I've tried the Sandalwood ASB and I'm very impressed with this one as well.
Edwin Jagger is definitely one of the stars of the modern shaving companies, and TESC is great to deal with.
