Educate me about some of the Cartiers

I like Roadster but not wearing it much lately.

Got a couple Cartier samples and am really impressed.

Please tell me about:

Cartier Declaration. My first thoughts were too much cardamom when I wore it months ago. The sample today made me see it as more complex than that. I could see myself wearing this to work. How is longevity?

Eau de Cartier. I probably considered this "boring" previously when sampled. But now I am liking this sample. Seems like another would-be-great-for-work scents that smells classy and pleasant. How is longevity?

I looked at reviews of Roadster sport in past and was told longevity is horrible so stopped even considering it previously. If either of two above have poor sillage and longevity I will not consider FB. Will keep sampling these two but wondered about others' thoughts.

Also I'm trying to stay away from all the flankers of these scents. It gets so confusing with Declaration Essence, Declaration Huere or whatever else is out there.

If you like a bit of old school, look into these 2 IMHO

Santos De Cartier - both EDT and EDP - herby & strong powdery fragrance, also a barbershop vibe to it.
Pasha de Cartier - very nice gentle mintu citrus. Roadster is more clean peppermint, Pasha is more like an ol school Barbershop take on a fresh minty scent. Think of it as a pendant to YSL Live Jazz

Roadster Sport is less mint and more grassy citrus - longevity on my skin is 6-7 hours, whereas the normal Roadster I get 8-10 hours. Both are pretty good, but the original Roadster is better IMHO
Eau de Cartier - a very mild and clean fresh scent. I personally bought the Eau de Cartier Concentrée version, and that last me 8-10 hours solid. Not a huge fan of it though, but nice in blends......

Have yet to test Declaration - actually have to blind buy it, since it can't be bought in Denmark in real shops.
Must de cartier is also on my wish list.

I like Santos de Cartier Concente, but I picture you flaming us all with "too mature" comments on it. A marvelous sandalwood-patchouli bomb from the 80s. Manly to the max. I like it.

I haven't tried the others but I really wanted to try this one since I love cardamom...I found the opposite from you, i barely smelled any cardamom at all, just green citrusy woody scent. The spices I got were more wormwood, caraway and coriander...but nothing amazing. as a side note I found an amazing cardamom scent at smell bent, thier short fuse perfume is an atomic cardamom blast over incense and vanilla, very nice!

I must admit, I'm a bit taken back by this thread Schad. I'm not a fan. Hot.... Synthetic.... Mess....

LIke it or not, but Roadster is not a synthetic mess to be honest. it's one of the cleanest and warmest natural mint scents you will ever find IMHO
I'm not a total favorite of it, but it does not smell synthetic to my nose - quite natural and clean scent.
Pasha also smells very natural - in fact IMHO it's high quality designer juice.......
YMMV

Cartier Sport does indeed have laughable longevity. I have tried is several times.

Roadster is kinda' gross in my opinion.

Declaration is okay. Lot of people say it is reminiscent of body odor or Indian food though because it has cumin in it.

Declaration Essence Is okay. Very smoky.

Pasha is disgusting (don't shoot, my opinion). Pasha Menthe is better.

The two Santos are very fine fragrances, but I cannot wear them. I hate to say it, but "old man" is what comes to mind. Maybe an uncle or grandpa or something wore it around me when I was younger. I don't know.

I think Eau De Cartier and Eau De Cartier Concentree is pretty unique. I don't know anything else that smells quite like it.

Agree with a lot of what you're saying, but not everything.

Used to love Roadster, now I think it's just so-so and hardly wear it.

I like Declaration a lot as a scent, but I'm not sure it's FB worthy for me. I generally do not like scents that smell like an indian restaurant, which is part of why I am not as enamored with Divine L'Homme Sage as others tend to be (though I appreciate it as a great scent...just not something I want to smell like).

Don't know Pasha or Santos but I get the sense from reviews and perhaps testing previously that they are "old man" as you say.

I have not tried Declaration Essence so I can't comment.

Roadster sport I'm told pathetic longevity.

I really like Eau de Cartier as a work scent, but wonder if it's just a little too bland and not PLADOW! enough to buy as FB. Never tried concentree.

I don't know if Pasha is really a mature scent. I just don't like it. The two Santos however are completely different. So you really need to try both. The concentree is not simply a stronger version of the original.

I just cannot get over that weird bitter mint in the Roadster. Roadster Sport would actually be a really great alternative to all the normal aquatic and fresh scents if it lasted more than 2 hours. I doused myself in 6 heavy sprays from the bottle. Almost gone in 2 hours. Totally gone in about 3 hours.

If you like Declaration, you can get it for cheap online. It is still pretty expensive in stores.

I'm wearing Declaration Cologne EDT today (got a retail sample at Nordstrom). Wish they would've had these samples out this summer, because it's definitely a summer scent. I like it. Big time citrus with some vetiver is what I've got so far.

BAM! I caught me a Cartier.

Was testing samples of Eau de Cartier and Declaration. Declaration is a very nice smell, but the cumin or cardamom (whichever it is) makes it not FB worthy because I could see myself getting self conscious or bored with it. So I'll just keep working on my little sample spray and if I change my mind I can get it later.

I skipped Eau de Cartier because while it smells awesome and clean and very work friendly at first, it seemed to go away almost immediately when I wore it to work this week.

Instead I got the Eau de Cartier CONCENTREE. It is NOT just a EDP version of Eau. It is a totally different scent. It is more green. It is green and clean, not white and clean like the original Eau (if that makes sense). It's like a mix of Eau + Roadster, with more personality than Eau and not quite as harsh as Roadster. I can definitely see myself wearing this to work regularly.

Cartier is sold at Nordstroms but not at more mainstream places like Macy's and Dillards. Mine was bought at Halls in Kansas City, but where I live in podunk town there is no local Cartier distributor. I think Sephora has a few, but only a limited selection (like Cartier Roadster Sport for example).

I have a few Cartier's.
Roadster I find a refreshing combination of mint and citrus, average longevity, around 4 hours on me and cool bottle too.
Declaration, I sampled in a department store recently and bought a bottle, as yet unopened, however I was very impressed by the longevity - a good 8 hours from the original sample spray. Probably the longest lasting citrus fragrance I have come across.
Essence d'Orange I also have, again citrus based with top notes of orange and bergamot. Doesn't have the staying power of Declaration, smells really nice but doesn't last past a couple of hours on me.

Overall really like Cartier, nice smells and I like the fact the bottles and presentation are easy on the eye too.

Edit - the Declaration I have is the Cartier 'cologne' version, white box.

It odd how different Cartier's Eau de Cartier is with Eau de Cartier concentree. They are nothing alike at all IMO. One is white clean, the other is green clean if that makes sense.
