eBay prices?

I have a set limit of $20 (including shipping) on any Super Speed variant. Now to find that elusive L3 black handle...

Seems to me that in the past 3 or 4 days, prices have gone up by $5-10. I passed on a NEW and a few superspeeds because of the seemingly inflated prices.

I did manage to snag two fat handle techs. One for $0.99, One for $5.38.

There is a ton of re-sellers nowadays sadly : /. I did join a facebook group and I left because of the resellers, so you gotta be really paying attention to what comes on the bay, thankfully I already got my grail, I got 3 more razors to buy and I'll be done.

I would recommend just watching the bay. Deals come and go, but I agree lots of people just put up ridiculous prices expecting to get people that dont know what somethings value is.

Yeah prices on the bay can get nuts. Some sellers think they have King Tuts treasure , others sell trash. Sometimes it's just a matter of luck to win on the bay. I particularly like the language used--rare, vintage, collectors piece--for a $40 Gold Tech that's a rust bucket. As in all dealings, look before you leap!

Ha! It's a conspiracy. It's actually all Gillette employees in a dark basement spiking the prices to force you into carts. Muwhahaha! "Cough*.....got carried away.

I agree. I have a nice EJ DE89L, but I would like to try a Gillette adjustable for variety, but the prices every time I've looked seem a little out there. Even when the condition looks like crap, they still seem to be asking top dollar.

Don't forget that we're also still in the whole "Dads and Grads" window here when things typically do get a bit crazier than normal.

I often see things like 'super rare', 'rare collectors item' and you wont see another like this... written on listings for a fairly modern techs. some suckers fall for it though, I saw what was listed as a valet auto strop with the above words and it wasn't even an auto strop. inside the case there was clearly pictured an ever ready 1912 and it went for quite a few quid... a 1912 in a mismatched box and a strop that would be worse than useless for the razor, so in effect an empty auto strop box and strop and an unboxed 1912 for the price of a NOS boxed razor.

I just received a super adjustable for 20 off the bay. After a good scrubbing it is nearly mint.I think I got a fair price. One nice thing about the bay is that there is an endless supply. If you can be patient you will eventually get what you want for the price you want it for.

I may be part of the problem but I am a newbie so can I claim razor insanity!?
No, really I have been watching prices for a couple of weeks trying to get my hands on a SS red tip. I ended up paying $40 for a super nice, cleaned up, grade A gem. A fair price IMHO. Right...

good advice, if patient a razor you are after at the right price for you will come up, unless its a super rare one, but thats another story.

You are very observant man, this can relate to the crazy prices since they can make great presents. At Bodybuilding.com I see new 20 year old members that just discovered Traditional shaving, they go all out on shave gear and spend $$thousands within months.
