E-4 Fatboy

I've read that the best year for the fatboy is the first year, and specifically the last quarter.
Is there any truth that the best fatboy is the E-4? If so, what makes it the best year and quarter for the fatboy?
Thanks, Lucas

I passed my 20th birthday early in 1960, and was 29 in 1969. My 20s were good years for me personally. I bought my first Gillette Adjustable in 1966, and I still have it. I was surprised recently to see a Fat Boy and a Slim photographed side by side. I really had the impression that the Fat Boy was still the same basic length as Gillette razors had usually been, like the Super Speeds of the 1950s. I borrowed one once, and it seemed short and fat, not merely fat.

Is there anything substantive behind the talk that the E-4 is superior in some way?

I have an E-2 and a G-1. Aside from some cosmetic differences, they are very similar razors to me.
The G-1 shares some of the same plating, numbering on the dial, etc. with the slim made around the same time, which does differentiate it from the E-2.
As far as the shave does, they're about dead even. The E-2 might be slightly smoother, but that could be my imagination.
