Dunhill pipe tobacco

Shortly I'll have a chance to pick up my choice of Dunhill products [edit] at employee pricing. A long time ago I used to smoke Royal Yacht -- I'd like to know if it's still the same, and if there similar Dunhill blends I should consider.

BTW, it's this forum that inspired me to take up a pipe again.

I saw it listed on pipesandcigars.com -- now I see that it's out of production. Are they out of the business pipe tobacco business altogether? Talk about a Rip van Winkle moment.

It is still being made but Dunhill hasn't had a distributor in the US or the UK for quite awhile. You can still purchase it online from German shops but with their taxes it'll cost between $17 and $30 for a 100g tin. I have no idea how much shipping would be.

I'm a big fan of Dunhill Early Morning Pipe and I only have about 3ozs left. Hopefully somebody starts distributing it again in the USA.

I've only looked at one German site for tobacco blends, but the shipping was $35 for a single 50g tin. I decided at that point that I could do without trying the VA I was looking for there for a while.

There's a thread over on smokersforums.co.uk about Dunhill EMP replacements.

I'm fond of Rattray's Red Rapparee. Very little latakia, lots of light virginia and orientals.

I found a little tobacco store in Milwaukee (tobacco world Ltd) that still has some bulk Dunhill 3 year matured virginia in stock. got some today.

Some?:scared: If it is at all economically possible, go back there and get all of it before someone else who knows what they're doing finds it! Even if you don't end up liking the blend you can sell the remaining sealed tins for a pretty penny on E-Bay and trade off the open one.
