Dovo silvertip travel brush

There is not much going on about the Dovo silvertip travel brush here. Being in need of a travel brush (and my EJ travel brush being way too scritchy for my taste) I decided to go for the Dovo:

The knot is small, fairly dense and very soft

I haven't used it yet, but I will tonight. I am quite curious to see how a small knot in a long/heavy handle performs. I will post post-bloom pics. and a full report after the shave.

I haven't been able to find a review of this brush on B&B. Am I right in assuming there is none?

Regards.

I didnt realise there was no review - ill get on to that later.

Ive had one for a while, its a great little brush in an indestructable tube. I seriously think that I could run this over with a truck and it would be fine.

Here's a post-bloom shot for y'all:

This is a very nice brush. The long heavy handle is very comfortable. The hairs are very soft - a little floppy actually - the brush performed really well with cream, I am quite exited to see how it works with soap.

I will give it a go with soaps tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, then I'll report back.

This was two days ago: how it works with soap?

:w00t: It's a very cool stuff! I would like to buy it, but I use only soaps.

I just tried the brush with Tabac soap - and it performed nicely.

It performs much like my Kent BK4 - just a tiny bit floppier.

I would call the Dovo silvertip travel brush a good allrounder - it is an excellent cream brush that works fine with soaps aswell.

Thank you

I often find myself reaching for this brush at home, simply because it is so nice.

I just acquired this razor based on this review and ensuing discussion. I just got back from a 4 day trip; all I have to say is wow! What a luxurious feeling to get in a hotel bathroom using soap milled into a gladware container and lathered in a 99 cent target dipping bowl. It's like I'm transported home (or better!) for every shave on the road.

They don't give these brushes away as far as price but I can say it was definitely worth the money if only for the last 4 days. I can't wait for next week's trip. Thanks again for the great review.

I am glad it is working out just as nicely for you.

I will be bringing mine, together with a Vulfix boar for variation, for a 10 day trip. I am looking very much forward to using it for a prolonged period.

Jakob - It appears that the brush sets in the handle by friction fit with the o-ring as opposed to being threaded. Do you find that it is secure enough with a vigorous lathering? Any worries that as the o-ring compresses over time that it will loosen up?

You are correct, it is held in place by friction rather than threading.

Mine sits nice and firmly in place during normal use, no wobble at all there. A slight wobble is however noticeable if lathering too vigorously - but you'll need to go faster than I expect anyone would.

If the o-rings should deteriorate/compress over time I beleive that they should be quite easy to simply replace.
