What's new

Dorco now the K-Mart supplier?

Looked at some blades in K-Mart today, and found that the DE blades (in a metal dispensor pack), TracII clone blades, and Sensor clone blades were all made in Korea.

Dorco, perhaps?

Their brand name is "Smart Sense".

The DE blades are $5.99 for a 10 pack, metal dispenser. Not great if it turns out they only compete with the Walmart $1.79 blade.

There is a TracII plus clone, at $8.99 for a 10 pack.

There is a also a 3 bladed Sensor clone, at $4.99 for 4. I bought these, and like them. Wish they were two bladed, though.

All from Korea, as mentioned before.

Interesting. I thought Dorco ST-301 to be decent blades. If it's the ST-300, then I'm not as interested as I found them to be mediocre blades. Let us know if you try them out and how they feel.

I finally tried one of the Smart Sense DE blades.

Nice blade, I would put it right in there with the Derby, Merkur, Shark SS, and Red Persona. It could be someone's ideal blade.

I think that the guess would be is that it is actually a Dorco 301.

There are no identifying marks on the blades, only arrows for the dispense direction.
No markings on the dispenser, either.

Pricey at $5.99/10, but locally available. Walmart Wilkies are $1.79, though.

Actually, I would recommend as a sampler blade for the newbie, while they wait for an exotic sampler to arrive in the mail.

Pick up a package of Walmart Wilkensons to compare, and you would have a good idea of what a decent DE shave is like.

K Mart Dorco and Dollar General Dorco may actually be the same blade but it sounds like K Mart is jacking the prices up to compete with Walgreens
More money for Wal-Mart's OUTSTANDING German Wilkinson's and the Dollar Store Dorco's.

It seems to me I saw either a 5 or 10 pack of DE blades at Dollar General in Dollar General store brand packaging for $1.

The exact same blades I bought at the .99 Only store. With the first stroke I could tell they will not work for me. Took it out and put a Personna made blade in and had a nice shave. If anyone finds they get a good shave with these blades , let me know. I'll be happy to pass them along to you.

I don't know about the Dollar General Korean blades, which I haven't tried.

I do know that the K-mart Korean blades are good blades, though they are pricey.

WCS dorco 301 blades are like 2 bucks for a 10 pack. I ordered some with my last order. I did notice tho they were horrible in the super adjustable but when i put them in my open comb i easily got a BBS

Tried the Walmart Wilkenson today, very good, and reasonable at $1.79.

K-mart blade is not competitive price-wise.
