What's new

Don't you hate it when you lose something?

I'm OCD about this stuff. Wife, son and I recently moved to a different state and after finally getting unpacked and settled there are two things I cannot find. My camera strap (slr) and a remote control for one of our TVs. I have looked and looked and looked....you get the idea. Still have not found the stuff after a month. Oh well...

Are you the type of person that if you lose something and are laying in bed in the middle of the night and you get an idea of where your item may be, you jump out of bed to look? :001_rolle Yeah...I'm that guy

I seriously cannot go to sleep unless I've looked and satisfied myself that *it* is there or not...:w00t:

not sure how old you are... but it gets worse...

I usually find my missing things right where I left them last..
just takes awhile to find that spot.

yep im that kinda guy. it drives me crazy, what makes it worse though is when someone chirps in with "its always in the last place you look" OFCOURSE IT IS BECAUSE WHEN IVE FOUND IT I'LL STOP LOOKING!!! ahem :)

Yeah, that drives me bonkers. The quickest way to find it though is to go out and buy a replacement. Then you'll find the lost one within a couple of hours. :thumbup1::cursing::frown2:

Don't ya just hate that?:a6::a7:

Well as a funny update, I was looking for my mp3 player's USB cable after posting this and guess what I found? My camera strap! I put in this bag and I probably told myself when I did that that it'd be easier to remember where I put it :001_rolle

I'll be 30 next month...lord help me if I continue on this track. The recurring theme is trying to find my keys every morning. I even put up a key rack near the front door but for some reason I just never manage to hang them up. I think my five year old son is embarassed by me...:w00t:

Well, yeah but then you end up with a drawer full of USB cables etc. I actually went and bought a new camera strap last night and true to form, like you said, I knew I would find the lost one.

EDIT: Sorry fellas...for some reason multi quote isn't working for me...

My mother, wise woman that she was, told me often,"You always find something the last place you look for it."

Kind of deep; I'm still thinking about that ;)

I'm always loosing something. I probably spent 3/4 of my life looking for something I've lost or misplaced. I can't afford to spend the remaining 1/4 of my life fretting about it. Besides, it's always been a source of great amusement to my family. Cheap entertainment. My kids would have their friends over to watch Dad look for stuff. So every dark cloud...

 Kind of sounds like me... only I have 20 years on ya..

Mostly seems to happen when I have WAY too much on my mind.
Thinking of tasks which lay ahead and trying to get all the ducks in a row..

Drop her down a gear and see if that might not work better

These days it is so easy to just find yourself rushing around.. it takes a real effort to just slow down and enjoy the process..
perhaps shaveing in the fashion we do with "wet shaving" and enjoying the experience can teach us things..

I think my five year old son is embarassed by me...
doubt it
