Does your Puerh elicit comments in reference to Cannabis?

It seems that at least once a month someone in my office will make a comment about puerh resembling cannabis. Anyone else have an experience like this?

Like...wow, man!

Just about every day. I simply retort with something like "no, it is my grass clippings from the compost pile" or "yeah, just something I 'weeded' out of the garden this morning."

My friend had his bag searched going into a concert a few weeks ago. I had given him a chunk of Nada's 90's sheng tuo earlier. It took him quite a bit of explaining as he also had rolling papers on him. In the end the police were not called but the pu was confiscated:frown:

I do recall someone online saying they had quite a bit of talking to do when caught with bags of Japanese green tea and some digital scales at the airport.

He shouldn't have been carrying rolling papers around if they are illegal where he lives. If they aren't illegal he should have asked the cop to return his property. It's tea, not pot and this isn't rocket science. They are very easy to tell apart.

Rolling papers are legal. It wasn't the cops, it was security at the venue who don't have too good a reputation. One option was to call the cops, have his details taken and possibly have the pu taken away to the station.

He opted to surrender the chunk of pu and go see the concert which was just starting.

Now, I would have fought for some 90's tea that Nadacha offers. I would have been threatening law suits and all kinds of stuff. Well, maybe not really but I sound pretty tough don't I. Probably would have resorted to the old, "let me talk to your supervisor." And if no satisfaction, "let me talk to your supervisor" etc. Usually taks no more than three times to get the attention of the right folks and satisfactory results.

I'm willing to bet that a couple of security guards tried smoking sheng tuo that night.

I haven't gotten it from pu'er consumption, just oolong. Some oolongs depending on how they're roasted smell exactly like cannabis.

Try drinking yerba mate tea out of a gourd at work.

In graduate school I had a dear friend from Brazil who drank yerba mate from a gourd. He used that cool metal filtering "straw" too. Where is the best place to purchase quality hardware and yerba for this culinary treat?

peace.
