Does your blade make a noise when tightening the head ?

I had loaded an Iridium into my new Muhle R41 OC, and when I started tightening down the head, I heard a noise like aluminum foil being crumpled into a ball.

I guess it's the sound of the blade being bent, but I had not noticed it on any of my other razors. Just for grins, I did the same with a Feather and it made the same noise, but considerable quieter.

Is the Muhle bending the Be-Jesus out of the blades ?

It shaved ok, but I was just curious.

I have a Merkur 15C which I think has the same head and there's is some noise when tightening up the head. Nothing loud or anything, but it's there. My Techs do the same thing, but not as loud as my 15C.

I have a couple razors that make a similar noise. I'm pretty sure it's just the blade cutout rubbing against the threaded post as it's being sandwiched between the baseplate and cap.

My razors make the same noise as well!

Some razors do and some don't. Some even make a little 'bang' when tightened fully. Nothing to worry about though I have one razor/blade combo were the blades always snap; when I put a Lucky Mince blade in my Wilkinson Classic the blade never survives. Not a big deal since I like those blades as much as that razor; not at all!

I have noted that when DE shaving...the noise is slightly different for each blade brand. Nothing to worry about, it's just the metal to metal and bending that creates that noise.
