How long did it take you before you figure out what it really is?

I figured out what it was by looking at the photo properties.
Kinda made me ashamed I didn't already know what it was.

That's about how long it took me ... the photo popped up on my cell-phone earlier, it today's background image for Bing.com
It's Pearl Harbor Day. With that in mind it was instant recognition for me.
It was also the opening date of a restaurant I worked at. That also became a wreck.

My father had a good friend on the USS Shaw. I'll always remember when they'd show newsreel footage of the attack he'd say "There goes poor Willy" when the Shaw's magazine explodes.
My father and a group of his high school buddies went to enlist in the Navy the next day because they'd seen a film about Naval Aviators. The Navy took his four buddies but rejected my father due to less than perfect vision.
By the end of the battle of Midway the four buddies were dead. My father ended up working on the Alcan highway and then in the Army infantry, and saw a great deal of combat in Europe.
It's odd how little mention of Pearl Harbor day there was this year. Time marches on, and as it slips from living memory it will become a date for a few history geeks to note.
I wonder if the Civil War vets wondered why nobody cared about April 12th in 1930, and if my boys will note September 11th in 2070, and maybe post about how it always made their parents say "I remember exactly what I was doing on that day..."
Oh, and it does look like a razor.

thats a pretty legendary pic i've actually been there, but it took me a little longer then i thought because i was focused on the razor

I got it as as the Memorial before I got it as looking like a razor.

Got it instantly. My grandfather always called me on 12/7 to ask if I knew what day it was. He did five years with the AAF, topped out as a Captain in the MPs.
A second or so, it is very Iconic
I guess it kinda does look like a razor...I picked it up right away...I was actually there about a year ago so what it looks like is pretty fresh in my mind.
