Does Neatness Count?

How important is it to do a neat job?

When I finish, usually there's a small flood on the counter, lather on my chest and some cleanup required on the mirror.

Am I doing anything wrong?

Whatever floats your boat. Shaving for me is about being well groomed and presentable, so neatness counts for me with regards to the shave. As for the sink and mirror, a little post clean-up is almost always the case for me.

As long as you clean it up after who has to know other than you. And us now that you told us.

I usually end up with a lot of water on the counter myself.

I'm the same way. I really get into my shaving!!! LOL!

I make a mess too, but I always clean up after. My brother on the other hand, makes an even bigger mess than I do, but never wipes anything off because, "it's just water."
:tongue_sm

Are all the posters above me doing gymnastics in the bathroom? Water stays in the sink, lather on my face. I'm amazed!:tongue_sm

That's why I keep a small hand-towel nearby and handy. :)

I have a second towel. One cleans any mess up around the sink (mostly water from a splash between passes and post-shave) and I set the scuttle upside down on another after wiping the razor and scuttle down. The unfinished bottom of the scuttle will scratch some countertops.

For me, the biggest mess is made when rinsing my face after the shave. That usually leavers a fair amount of water splashed and dripped all over the counter and me.

I fold a small hand towel lengthwise so that it's small enough to place at the front of the sink, between the basin and the front edge of the sink. This keeps most of the water from running everywhere, then I use it to wipe up anything that needs it after the shave. Helps keep things alot neater.

I am possibly the most egregious of the offenders here, I have water on the counter top and water on the floor. Maybe the water on the floor is from my shower before hand.

I got one word for you "lathersplosion".

I usually have some clean up as well. I cant help but for something to get loose while I do my shaving.
