What's new

Do you consider RAD a problem?

Try living with ASAD/CAD. It's fun but the stuff can sneak up on you when every resale shop, yard sale and flea market has it for cheap and sometimes free (only about 1/3 of the items pictured are retail/online/ebay buys).

The Hai Karate shave cream and deo spray work. Too bad they don't smell better.

Avon's exellent original BR. The Burma Bey is the one a/s I'd grab in a fire, I like it that much.

Skin Bracer hand now filled with Avon's magnificent Island Lime.

What I tend to use day to day.

Stephans, etc.

The (Old) Spice Rack.

The thing is, I understand RAD. I don't get aftershaves and colognes at all, particularly colognes, ugh, bleccchh.:scared:

But then, I don't need to understand. Whatever makes you happy. And this stuff obviously must make you happy.:wink2:

RAD a problem.....are you serious!!! I suppose you consider crackheads to have a problem too, huh.:001_smile

Interesting question. But I am unfit to judge anyone, sometimes not even myself. :001_smile Seriously, I find some bags I forgot I bought, put them on the shelves and suddenly realize just how much of this crap I now own. I don't think I'm to the point of needing an intervention (wife + trash bag = intervention) but I need to lay off for awhile.

I wouldn't feel so bad if the baby she's about to have was a boy, but it'll be girl #2 so I can't excuse it by saying "I'll pass it on someday."

I think I saw you mention that somewhere before but don't recall your saying why. Sensitivity? Do they give you headaches or something?

Not that, just find the strong smells annoying. Sort of the way some people are irritated by loud music in public places, while others might be uneasy without that background accompaniment. YMMV, de gustibus non est disputandum, and all that. Not meant as a criticism. The only point is that all of our respective ADs are going to be hard for someone to understand. With all the razors I've accumulated, I can't point any fingers.:001_smile

Nope. Done. Everyone else I know having kids is busting out girls, too. And they're all pale blond with silver eyes. Strange.

Have never taken anything you've said as criticism, and even if I did I'd first ask myself if you have a point. I've largely stopped my razor acquisitions and have my rotation down to what's listed below (and even THAT is too much, truth be told). But at least a/s is consumable so, in time...

I'm with you about loud music in public places. Have you noticed formerly quiet restaurants blaring music more than they used to? That's the #1 fastest way for me to leave and never come back to a joint, no matter how good the food is.

Girls shave too...and they will have husbands...and then there are the grandsons...

How are the Stephen aftershaves? Any favorites?

The Lilac smells like lilacs (nothing WHAT SO EVER like LV, btw). Bought it for my wife since she likes them. She's meh about it.

The Spicy smells like lunchmeat. Not spoiled, rotten lunchmeat, but something garlicky. Seriously. I was just wondering today why the hell that bottle is missing as much as it is when I can't stand it. Probably from reapplying it to see if it was really as bad as I thought, then repeatedly suppressing the memory. Want it?

The Lime is nothing special, not particularly limey. It's nowhere near as good or as realistic as Avon's old Island Lime (which I own) and other modern ones (which I don't). Would make a decent room spray deodorizer.

The Alpine Menthol is like a 1/2 to 2/3 strength version of Osage Rub, only better scented and not likely to punch people in the face with Old Man Scent. Decent.

The Bay Rum is my close #2 favorite BR, even though you can see on the label some of the stuff I mixed it with just for fun. Of all the Stephan's I've tried, I'd definitely recommend you buy a bottle if you like BR. It's very wearable. Best of all, no clove nor cinnamon.

RAD is fun, but when you end up with 4 Slims and realize that you don't need 2 of them, well then you just gotta sell them (one for the collection and one for the dopp kit).

...or do you have to sell them.... (that would be the RAD talking):glare:

Which I've done several times with dozens of razors. Harder to sell a/s overstock when you enjoy old, "lesser" brands on a board peopled with hoity-toity, pinky-in-the-air cyber-snobs who will pay through the nose for the water standing in the bottom of a potted plant if you put it in a bottle with a French name on it. :001_tongu

(that's a joke, son, that's a joke)
