Do these glasses look OK on me?

When I was in high schooll about 100 years ago the preps wore them, "DQ" glasses if I recall correctly. I didn't where them but they are looking great on you. In modern terms these frames are still popular? Just leave the duck
shoes at the vintage store you don't need them.
cheers.

They're very popular in europe. So popular in fact, people who don't need glasses are buying them with plain glass in them. Go figure! I have three pairs in that style I use for reading (the cheep $5 +1.0 strength not from the opticians).

They look fine on you.

From a technical standpoint(I work in an opticians in the UK) the frame from that picture looks to be a good fit as your eyes are very central in the lenses and the bridge over your nose does not look loose in any way. The frame looks to be pretty much perfect in size accross your face without digging in at the temples or sticking out and leaving gaps. In terms of style which is a very subjective area i think it looks quite good.

As a man who had eye surgery when he was 3 years old and has had to wear glasses and contact lenses since, people wearing glasses who don't need them REALLY get on my nerves...

OP - they suit you!

Wow, thanks everyone! I was afraid I would look like a hipster! Yes, I did buy them from an optician.

I love that look. Frames I got recently are very much like those and really like them. Very, very popular in the States right now, too. But also very traditional, at least in the States. Maybe at your age they could be seen as a bit hipster, but mostly not I would think.

As others have said, excellent fit.

Bravo!

I think they look great. They fit your face perfectly.

I can't tell in the picture--are they black or tortoise shell? Either works fine, but I'm a fool for tort, especially with lighter-colored hair.
