Do ANY vendors afford cheap shipping?

And when I say "cheap" I mean not charging $8 shipping for a $8.50 container of shaving soap.

Whom among our estwhile vendors do you think offer the best combination of product and price and shipping for non-proprietary prodcts?

Shipping one item is expensive, no matter what the item is. The only way to make shipping cheaper is to make larger orders.

West Coast Shaving has a variety of shipping methods to choose from, some of which are quite inexpensive. First class or Priority would be the least expensive options. This is assuming a US address.

Shipping seems expensive relative to the cost of the item until you think about it a bit. Not only is there the postage or fee, there is also packaging such that the item will successfully make the journey. Packaging costs. And then there is the cost of getting it to the post office if that is where it is going. When I send Christmas gifts out by mail, I cringe when the postal person or UPS person puts it on the scale!

Shaveabuck. Best shipping rates on single items that I have seen, and great customer service. The guy specializes in inexpensive products though, so no $8.50 creams there

Fendrihan offers free shipping over $100.
Within Canada, it cost me less the $6 shipping for a razor and some blades.

About $2.30 to ship a tube of Spieck, which is cheap at about $6.00. I was very pleased with their service.

BTW, their shipping calculator is awesome. I could have picked something really light (10 blades) and not increased the shipping at all.

Kudos to WCS!

I bought a Merkur razor and a sample pack of blades a few weeks ago from WestCoast. I choose the cheapest shipping option available and I think it cost about $3. It said it would take two to five days USPS. I ordered it Friday night, it shipped Saturday and it was waiting for me when I got home from work on Monday.
