Dirty knurls

Hello Gents,
I have picked up some fixer uppers from the bay and the good B&B folks.
I have had some success with flitz polish but...
How do you polish a knurled handle?

A soft toothbrush with some cleaner followed by polish works well. I use my Oral-B electric toothbrush with an old soft brush head and it cleans and polishes up knurling on those fixer-uppers very well. :001_smile

I think a cloth should be sufficient. I have used a toothbrush too but I was paranoid that it might be too abrasive with a polishing agent, so now I only use paper tissues and a microfiber cloth.

How do you use the Flitz? I find I have to apply it several times and do some vigorous buffing in between. It does take a lot of time but it's worth it for the shine.

I usually pour a little polish on an old t-shirt and dab it on the spot that I want to clean then buff it off with a clean section of cloth. If needed I'll use a cotton swab to get into the tight spots. I cleaned up a single ring from dingy to new. I'll post pics soon.

I'll try the toothbrush. Thanks

Hi Mike,

One trick I have learned is to use cotton balls. I have had very good luck getting knurled handles to clean up nicely using this method. The cotton ball conforms well to the shape of the handle and produces nice results. Good luck!
