Did they reformulate Diptyque Tam Dao?

For those of you who may have experience with it: Do you feel (smell) as though they've reformulated the one-of-a-kind Tam Dao?

The reason I ask is because I've just received some new samples of fragrances from Diptyque; among them, Tam Dao. I've just sprayed some on and, for the life of me, swear there's something pretty different from the previous version.

My bottle of Tam Dao was bought about a year or so ago, and the opening is a much softer cypress/spruce than I remember compared to the current sample I have. I've sprayed both on opposite wrists and there's a distinctly incensey and sharper character with the new version.

In fact, I'd wager there's less sandalwood in the new version compared with the previous. The newer sample is nice nonetheless, but I can't help but think there's something missing; above all: Goa Sandalwood. It's MUCH more prominent in the older version, IMO.

Does anyone else feel the same way? Am I nuts?

Edit: For reference, my original bottle of Tam Dao is exactly as I remember it being the day I bought it: soft cypress opening with a background of genuine Sandalwood. I don't think it's a matter of a fragrance aging and the topnotes becoming a little less obtuse.

Maybe it was changed a bit. Sandalwood EO's have gone price-wise through the roof. A good quality is going to be now $100+ per ounce.
I have tested it only once in a perfumery, so I could not give any advise if there was a reformulation, but I would check on basenotes.

Seems plausible - the price of sandalwood is amazing (much better investment than gold!) they may have cut back in order to keep the price in line. My only experience is an older bottle, so it would be pre-reform.
