What's new

Did I pull the trigger too soon on this one?

I just purchased this razor 5/8 Imperial Razor

It was kind of an impulse buy because i really am partial to wooden scales. The main thing ive been looking for is a rounded razor, that is smaller than 6/8 (6/8 is a little to clunky for me). Im not very knowledgeable with all the names of the razors and whatnot. Normally i will post it on here to ask opinions from everyone, but i didnt want to miss out on something that i may like.

Since im still a little new to the measurements i was curious. Is 5/8 really that much of a difference than 6/8? Sorry if that sounds silly, but the sizing has always confused me a bit. The picture is a bit hard to make out, so i just wanted some insight on the quality of this blade.

Thanks in advance
Tony

looks like a good blade.

sizing is personal preference, some guys like huge, others prefer small.

is there much difference, not really, but its there, and you can tell. its 12.5%

5/8 is a great starting size you can get a feel for straight shaving without it being ether too big or too small. Once you get comfortable with it you can go ether way you chose. Plus the round tip is a good option for a first razor. Less risk while learning your technique. I think you did just fine.
