Development & Dry Down of Knize 10

I tested Knize 10 EDT on a piece of paper a few months ago and found it to be rather spicy. I had been hoping for something with more leather and/or tobacco.

YMMV aside, can anyone describe in detail the development and dry down of this fragrance?

It does start out rather strong, but on me, it dries down to a rich leather and even further into a nice light amber-ish scent. Wife hates the first 30 minutes of this fragrance, but loves it at about the 40 min mark :)

To me it smells like I'd imagine an old world men's club: Oiled leather chairs, powdered skin and cut flowers. Those three impressions swirl as it dries down - so it's not linear but to me it doesn't develop as much as it circles those three accords.

I get a touch of citrus in the opening that is drowned out by a rich, strong leather and a touch of powder. As the intensity settles out, it's becomes a very gentlemanly amber/leather with subtle floral and mildly spicy/woody notes. I like the mechanic --> banker analogy.

It's a very old school leather scent. Leather note is fairly similar IMO to Creed Royal English leather. Overall Creed a bit more citrusy; Knize more flowery.

You need a bit of patience with Knize Ten. The opening 20-30 minutes pretty intense. But it mellows a bit to a fine mature masculine scent. Be careful on the dose.
