Desert Island Shave.

OK, you're on your way to a razor collectors convention (overseas) and your ship runs into a WW2 mine. You make it to a lifeboat, but the other survivors insist you throw your collection overboard. After a three hour scuffle you compromise, you're allowed to keep one razor and one shaving soap/cream. I'd hang onto my 58SS and a tub of Cella. What about you?

I would keep my 1950 Executive with it's 50 NOS blades and mirror in the case top. The soap I would keep is a tub of Penhaligon Blenheim Bouquet. But I also need my Chubby 2 to go with it.

Well, if the other survivors were indeed strong enough to overcome my severe RAD, then I'd have to keep:

- TOBS cream
- Merkur HD

I guess I'm little unsophisticated because I would keep my Merkur 39C slant and Proraso shave cream. The problem is I don't have a bowl or brush to make a lather.

I would take my Star/Kampfe lather catcher and my VanDerMenthe soap (VDH deluxe melted and mixed with a good dose of SCS Blue Line aftershave splash)

To reduce the risk of the life-boat sinking. Some collections can be quite weighty, don't you know. And a clean shave will increase your chances of procreation, should you need to set up a new society.

You'd want to procreate with people who force you to get rid of your collection? Won't that lead to children who use electric razors? (pretty hard on a desert island, but still)

...and, ok...I'll say it......Tabac. It's just stupid easy to get good lather with, and shaves great.

Edit: WAIT! I take it back...what was I thinking?!? Old formulation (tallow) Trumper's Rose (or lime)...

You can get Super Speeds as far back as 1947, flair tip version from 55-68.
