Deployment clasp for my B&B Watch

Hello,
well while waiting patiently on the watch and after reading a few posts about Deployment clasps (which I've never heard of before) I decided to check a few out but I need some help. Since I'm not into watches previously I have never seen or tried a Deployment clasp, doesn't seem to be a huge amount of them around but I found some here:

http://www.thewatchprince.com/watch-band/Deployants-Clasps
http://www.watchworx.co.uk/pages/access/deploy.html

Can I just get any of these and fit to the band it will be coming with or is it better to get a new band that has one already?
Should I be looking else where, if so can you post your favourite reasonable priced alternative

Thanks guys (& girls)

PS. anybody else want one, maybe a group purchase if there's an obvious one to go for.

You'll need to know the width of the band at the buckle, rather than at the lugs. Many leather bands taper slightly over the length, so it's not always the same size there. Other than that, there's no reason you wouldn't be able to use the band it comes with.

I had no idea these clasps existed. I have a watch with a leather strap that I haven't worn since I got it because I hate the whole buckle arrangement and the way it wears out the strap. I'll have to get one of these clasps pronto.

They add to the life of leather straps. Watch straps don't wear out as quickly from folding them back and forward to get them through a traditional buckle.

I'm a watch nut and these are my two favorite deployants.

I really like the Banda double deployant clasps without the buttons. They just close by friction. They're very comfortable and the quality is nice and they're very inexpensive - $15, plus shipping.

Available here

Here is a pic of one on my Panerai.

This vendor also has a very good reputation on TimeZone (wrist watch collectors site).

RHD Clasps

His are a little more expensive but the quality is excellent. He sells single and double deployants. I prefer the double - they're much more comfortable to me. They have push-buttons and some find them less comfortable. I have one of his deployants and it's very comfortable, very well-finished. An excellent product for the money.

Just measure the buckle end of the strap and order accordingly. The most common sizes are 18mm, 20mm, 22mm. I'm not sure what size strap came with the watch. You can use either of these deployants with most regular buckle straps.

There are also special deployant straps, but to be honest, either of these work fine with almost all straps out there.

I prefer a deployant over a buckle, and a butterfly one versus the other types. Latest 2 I bought from an eBay seller, $15 shipped, and have no reservations about recommending them. If you are interested shoot me a pm and I'll give you the sellers link.

Watches are still being made I don't know what size the buckle end is, thread says the band is 22mm so maybe a 20mm Deployant but I'll wait and see

Thanks guys.

Upon Austin's recommendation I bought my deployment clasps here. They had the best prices and were shipped quickly.

I prefer the butterfly style without the spring release. I got a couple of the spring release style at first but release buttons weren't very comfortable when I bent my wrist.

I prefer the butterfly style as well. They are comfortable.

Darn, I really wanted to buy from http://www.internationalwatchman.com, but:

International Shipping Charges: .... International Payment is accepted through Bank Checks or Bank Wires Only--In U.S. Funds...No PayPal or Credit Cards

Paying that way from Australia is seriously expensive (Bank fees/charges). I don't suppose anybody knows them and maybe if the order is somehow associated with B&B it would make a difference?

Their products are very good and the prices are reasonable. I think they're based in Hong Kong they sell internationally. They have a good reputation on watch boards. I have two of their deployants - the friction lock double deployants - and I'm very happy. The quality is good as you can see from my picture on my previous post.

If you want a step up buy from Bob Davis at mywatchmaker.net - great deployants for the money.
