de86 vs de89?

I can't understand it - I simply cannot give myself a bad shave using my black handled de86. I could shave blindfolded and upside down and still come out looking and feeling great. My de89 barley, however, is a different story. I think that thing is actually part meat grinder because no matter what I do, my face ends up looking like hamburger meat. Understanding they use the same head, how is this even possible?? I've tried tons of different grips and pressures on the handle, with zero success. I really want to hang on to the barley; it's a beautiful razor, but I'd also like to hang on to my face. I kinda like it, too.

i know! that's my 86 for you. meanwhile the 89 goes at me like an unstoppable rebel force. i can't understand it!!

My thoughts also. Maybe there is a problem with the head from your 89.

I also started enjoying my barley handle a lot more once I hit it with some sandpaper to improve the grip
