DE shaving rotation: Blades in use?

Those who rotate razors in and out of use, how many blades do you have in use (deployed?) at any given time?

H

Normally I stick with the same blade no matter what razor I use until it's just too dull and time to swap it for a new one.

Always two sometimes three.

Derby in a Superspeed is my go to kit If my face needs a rest and it is rare that I wouldn't have this combo loaded. But there is always at least one and more other razor/blade combos in action in any given week

I only have my active razor loaded, just because I don't want to be handling my other razors and wind up cutting myself because I didn't expect a loaded one.

If it's in the medicine cabinet consider it loaded, in the display case, unloaded.

I usually have two or three razors in my rotation and each has its own blade. Lately, I'm trying to keep it to two, with one being an open comb.

One. I have to imagine some corrosion occurs the longer a blade sits in your razor, eventually effecting the shave.

Curious on your thoughts on this one. After I shave I take a blade out and wipe it down with the rest of my razor so it's dried and any soap residue is off it. What would cause any corrosion in that scenario?

Probably not much if you get things good and dry. For awhile I used an alcohol soak and air dry to keep things good and dry between shaves, but with only one blade in a razor, changed at least every week, I think that is overkill.

Curious to know if anyone else fears some blade corrosion if a blade is left loaded in a humid bathroom for a few weeks at a time...

Two or sometimes three, but I have been considering just using one and rotating with the razor. I am mindful that the more one handles a blade the more chances one has to get cut. I think that I have found that certain blades work better in certain razors so I may just settle on that in my rotation.

Enjoy your shaves,

Doug

Usually just one but at times there are up to three. When I get new blades to try and I have a new razor in I usually don't have the patience to wait for the end of the blade's life. A week ago I had a Schick type G injector with a Schick platinum blade, a Lord LP1822 with a Racer SS blade and a LM68 with a red IP on my sink....

:blushing:

I only ever have one blade in use at a time. Leaving blades in razors that I'm not using just strikes me as one of those Bad Ideas, like going upstairs to read B&B while you've got something in the oven. Not that I've ever done that.
