What's new

Date this razor

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to the site and to the hobby. I'm apparently not smart enough to attach a pic to my post but will describe the best I can. I also tried to post pics of the razor in my profile. I found this razor in rough shape for $5.

Anyway, it has wooden scales but not sure if original as they are curved more than I would expect from how old I "think" the blade is but as i said, Im a newbie. Blade is notched and butcher blade style, heavy wedge with only a partial shoulder. Marked Joseph Milton "manufacturer Sheffield". Not Sheffield England just Sheffield and there is no monarch symbol. From lack of monarch symbol, partial shoulder and style of blade and lack of England I was putting it about 1810-30. Would love a more experienced opinion.

I'm happy to post pics if you can't see from my profile gallery if someone would kindly tell me how.

Thanks

Nick

I don't know anything about straight razors so, unfortunately, I don't have any information for you. Just wanted to post the pictures for you.

Since you already uploaded the pictures to the gallery section of your profile, you can use the following instructions to put the pictures into a post:

I didn't know how to do it either before reading that page but it's easy.

Hi Nick Welcome to B&B

If you have not already done so, stop into the Hall of Fame and tell everyone a little about yourself

The attached screen capture will explain how you add a picture to your posts
