I have soapstone counter tops in my bathroom and wanted to make a matching custom razor holder. Soapstone is very easy to work with using regular wood working tools and the possibilities are limitless. Here are some pictures of my project. I acquired a block of carving soapstone
(http://www.blackpearlsoapstone.com/Inventory/PS-Inventory.html), measured the handles of razors with a set of calipers and then drilled the holes with a vertical drill press. I then sanded the sides the way I wanted them, put the block in the oven at 200 degrees for 30 minutes and waxed it with beeswax to match my counters. I am pleased with the outcome. See attached pictures.
Razors: Feather SS, Feather portable, 1965 super speed, 1965 slim adjustable, 1960 rhodium fat boy, Merkur 38C, 1965 rhodium superspeed Fusion (yes, I know). The brush is a Saville row that I alternate with CH3 silver tip. All blades are feathers
