Cribbage, anyone?

I have always wanted to learn to play Cribbage, but I have never played and I don't know anyone who knows how to play. I would like to learn so I can teach someone other to play.

Cribbage is one of the oldest games in existence, so it should probably be a subforum here. Not to mention there seems to be a market of boards, pegs, and cards out there to match the shaving accessories discussed on B&B.

Are there any experienced players out there who can suggest a good cribbage board (brand or source), including what to look for, and the quickest way to learn the game?

Cribbage is a great game, but the whole game revolves around the scoring. The best way to learn is through a computer program that has several card games including cribbage. I don't play all the time, so I always forget how to score.

However, once you are in flow with the game, you pick it back up pretty quick. Oh, I should mention something about the board. Mine is a cheapie. I've never used the board to score or to play. Why? I never could get anyone to play Cribbage with me. Maybe you will have better luck. There are cribbage clubs, but I've never been to one (where they meet in bars to play etc). There is an association on the net too I think.

But, the key is to play and play on the software so you can master the scoring.

I play on pogo.com if anyone wants to play me sometime.

Also, I have my own custom made bone pegs.
I'll take a picture of them sometime.

I made my own board years ago in shop out of clear plastic.

There are many webistes where you can play cribbage. I downloaded an app on my Iphone. It is probably one of my favorite apps.
